The Best Books to Movies (In No Particular Order)

1.  American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis
     Fan fricking tastic!
And who could forget this classic scene?

2. Diary of a Wimpy Kid Series by Jeff Kinney
Love the books, love the movies.  Keep 'em coming!

3. Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling
While the movies didn't always follow the books quite as much as I would have liked them to, you have to give it up for the PERFECT CASTING.  These characters fit the descriptions phenomenally.  And you have to admit that the movies were actually pretty outstanding when you consider that these are probably some of the best written books of all time.

4. The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides
What a great book, what a great movie! Sofia Coppola really nailed this one, eh? Even though the trailer should really pay homage to the author as well (it states written and directed by Sofia Coppola: uh... no, Sofia, you no can write movie) this movie captures the feel of the novel almost perfectly. Using narration straight from the text and adding in the little details (such as the half eaten sandwich left on the stairs) this is probably one of the truest book to movie adaptations. And even though I'm a stickler for being completely faithful to the novels, I didn't even mind that the endings differed. Throw in the fact that Air created an amazing soundtrack, and this movie will haunt you long after you watch it.

"Obviously Doctor, you've never been a 13 year old girl..."
